Em um ano em que Adele e Lady Gaga não lançaram material novo - quem sabe assim, outros cantores possam ter a oportunidade de levar o prêmio para casa - muitos não estavam animados com o anúncio dos indicados, mas apesar das injustiças, (álbuns muito bons, como "Halcyon" de Ellie Goulding e o "Electra Heart" de Marina and the diamonds passaram despercebidos, como já era esperado) os membros da Academia de Gravação surpreenderam com algumas de suas escolhas, a grande e agradável surpresa da noite foi a aparição de "Florence + the Machine" nas categorias "Melhor performance Pop em banda" e "Melhor álbum Pop - Ceremonials". Merecidamente, o grupo Fun lidera com 6 indicações, e na lista dos que vão brigar pelo Grammy 2013, temos também nomes como: P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, The Black Keys e Maroon 5.
